At Cidewalk, our main mission is to give small business owners access to the same resources and opportunities that Fortune 500 companies have. So we were thrilled when the Westborough Economic Development Committee recognized our efforts on Tuesday, honoring us with their 2014 Public-Private Partnership award!

Chitika/Cidewalk CEO Venkat Kolluri graciously accepted the award Tuesday during the Westborough Economic Development Committee (Westborough EDC) First Annual Year in Review Celebratory Breakfast.

The EDC thanked Cidewalk for helping the EDC’s 2014 Shop Westborough Initiative flourish. During that time, businesses in Westborough were able to promote their discounts for national shopping day Shop Local Saturday, which is dedicated to encouraging local residents to bring the shopping spirit of Black Friday and Cyber Monday to local businesses. To aid the initiative, Cidewalk gave away over 10,000 free mobile impressions to participating Shop Westborough businesses wishing to promote their sales.

The Westborough EDC has recently again joined forces with Cidewalk as part of its Community Partner Program to double their efforts in supporting small businesses through free access to Cidewalk’s mobile marketing technology. The ultimate goal is to make the Shop Westborough Initiative a more permanent program in order to strengthen economic development in the town.

During the breakfast, Keynote speaker and Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito congratulated Cidewalk and the other seven award recipients, as well as the Westborough EDC, harping on the importance of creating and rewarding successful partnerships and relationships between businesses and their communities.

We are honored to receive the Public-Private Partnership award, and will continue working with businesses in our own back yard to open new doors of opportunity!
